So I have been deliberating for awhile now on how to improve the cooling of my 4 seater turbo since Polaris just wants to sweep this issue under the rug and leave those of us with over heating issues to either drive like an old lady or have to pull over every 10- 15 minutes to let it cool down.
To enhance the machines cooling ability I added a custom fan shroud and installed a larger fan on the stock radiator and it has helped some, but with the weather slowly warming up I want to try something a little more drastic. I have recently learned that the stock radiator is a single pass design and it is my opinion that the coolant is passing through the radiator too quickly to efficiently draw sufficient heat out of the coolant and in that state a hard working engine will just heat soak until it simply gets too hot.
I want to modify a stock radiator and turn it into a triple pass radiator by installing a couple of baffles in suitable locations and see how much more efficient that design will be. Every after market replacement for the turbo is a triple pass design. (CBR / TCP. etc.) and some recent videos I found on you tube demonstrate how much more effective that design is. So I am wondering if anyone in the area( Utah) has a stock radiator in useable condition that they would like to donate to participate in this science project?
For the life of me I don't understand why Polaris choose this design, but I am determined to try everything I can before I fork over $1100.00 to install an aftermarket system.
