I took the RZR in to the dealer on Saturday. 271 miles, 14 hrs. I told them the overheating isn't working for me, the clutch is acting up, and mentioned the howling front diff. I was expecting to get the routine "you need to throw a code to get the upgraded fan" and that "the clutch is just dirty", and the front diff is "normal".
I looked at the clutch prior to taking it in, so I knew it was galled, but wanted to see what they would say. And, I believe I have found a very simple way to get the over temp code without cooking the engine, since stopping and letting the RZR cool when the temp light is flashing red isn't good enough for Polaris.
To my surprise, I spoke to the Service Manager (SM) today since my tech was off, and he tells me that they found a leaky transmission seal that is causing belt slippage, and the clutch is crap and will likely be replaced. They also saw the over temp code on the scan. They didn't try to undermine any of my complaints. The SM wasn't sure about the front diff, but I know that is a stretch. He said the tech would call me tomorrow to go over everything.
In any event, they have submitted the claim to Polaris to replace trans seals, clutch, belt, and upgraded fan. Fingers crossed they get an approval! I'll keep you guys updated. Hurdle one was getting the dealer to acknowledge these issues, now the bigger hurdle, our good friends at Polaris signing off!
