New belt broken within minutes

I'm hoping the braintrust can help me figure this one out.

BLUF (bottom line up front): rebuilt primary, new secondary, proven AA clutch kit, new belt fails within minutes.

I have a '17 XPT4 with 2400 miles on it. At about 1000 miles I installed a AA clutch kit with performance helix to run 32" crawlers and 30" heavy molded paddles. I run an AA snap ring elimination kit with two spacers that give good deflection. I also run the stock primary clutch limiter. Until recently this setup performed well without issues. I blew my first belt recently in the dunes, running harder than usual assuming I let it get too hot. Shortly thereafter it blew another belt prompting me to pull the clutches.

I found the wearables in very poor condition and the inner bearing that resides in the secondary cover separating from the cover. I assumed this was the issue. My fault for not inspecting and cleaning more frequently. I slapped a new secondary together with the AA helix and spring, rebuilt the primary with new sliders and shims and took it to the sand dunes thinking it was good to go. Running today (cool day) with cover off (to eliminate temp as a variable) we broke a belt within the first few minutes. The car and belt were warmed up before any hard pulls. Second episode of WOT the belt broke, exploding into innumerable pieces. I installed another belt on to limp back to the trailer and noticed nothing abnormal as I rode alongside at very slow speeds.

The belt was an OEM that had been previously broken in before going into back-up status. It appeared brand new on visual inspection. I don't see any contact marks where the belt has been slapping the housing. I haven't yet been able to inspect for an alignment problem but wouldn't expect a minor alignment problem to cause such an abrupt belt failure. I would expect a major alignment problem to be visually apparent plus I read the '17 can't get out of alignment as bad as XP1000s in the past.

Essentially, I should be back to where I was when I installed the clutch kit which I ran without problems for at least 1000 hard miles.

Any suggestions?
Could a clutch alignment problem cause such abrupt failure and not be readily apparent?
Thanks in advance for any input.
