So we decided yesterday we were buying a new 4 seater RZR yesterday and went and bought it today. We added the Hilifter front and rear bumper and the Polaris rocker guards. Other than that she is all stock.....WOW does it got some power! Anyway we live in Colorado and ride Taylor Park almost exclusively. The other mods we are thinking about are full UHMW skid and a roof OR just do a cage and kill two birds with one stone. I have never been able to stomach a factory PoPo cage. Anyway what else should I know about this thing and what other mods should I do immediately? I come from a RZR 800S and Ranger 900 XP background. What are the "free mods" on these if there are any out there. Thanks!!

how to check the check engine light code?

I got a check engine light on the dash. I noticed the power was down a bit before the light came on. The light went out and the power came back to normal about 10 minutes later. I had been keeping a close eye on engine temps all day. I never saw anything over 213 and at the time when the light came on it said it was at 199. Wondering how to check the code for the check engine light.

Wheel bolt/lug size for 2016 versus 2014

Thinking about upgrading from my 2014 xp4 1000 to a 2016 xp4 turbo. I heard that that wheel bolts/lug nuts are larger on the '16. Want to keep my hiper/STU paddles. Will they work on a 2016?

Just picked up my XP4 Turbo. Haven't had a chance to drive it yet. Sitting in my garage with 0 miles on the gauges. :rm_thumbdown:

My question is what kind of mileage are you guys getting out of a tank?
Trails, Mountain, Dunes I drive it all so everyone's feedback is welcome!

I'm coming from a rzr XP1k 2 seat. While I never ran out of fuel, my group likes to go on all day long rides and returning on fumes is not uncommon. I know mileage is highly variable... I once topped the tank, ran the 40ish miles round trip from gecko to duners diner WOT and the fuel gauge was blinking when I got back and on the other hand I've ridden all day it seems on a half tank. Just looking for some real life feedback.

I'll be building my rig soon and wonder if I should incorporate some RotoPax into the design. Thanks everyone!

Oil Leak

So now that I have the error code of over boost resolved, as well as the overheating issues. I have a new issue. Went out tonight and notices oil spots on the garage door so stated shinning a light around and low and behold I have a few puddles on the bottom of the skid pates and oil splatterd on the bottom of the belt cover housing. Any suggestions what to look for, or what could be leaking? Looks to be mostly on the drive shaft side but hard to tell the origin point at this time as there is oil pretty much everywhere. Either way I guess it's a trip to the dealer again....

Anyone ever have an issue with their belt not riding all the way to the top? My belt is under the top of the sheeves by around 3/16 of an inch any thoughts? Only 300 miles and not much dust in the clutch, not enough to be belt wear in my opinion.

Well I took the plunge today and bought a 2016 turbo xp4. It has 400 miles on it. I'm really liking the ride so far I had a 1000 2 seater and this ride on the 4 seater kills it.

Im looking to buy some 30 inch tires and Im torn between these two tires They both look to be on the lighter weight of tires, good tread pattern and farily decent reviews. Curious your guys opinions.

I'm looking at one or the other - anything good or bad about either?

I'd like to run a 31x10x14 tire and I'm leaning toward the motohammer.

Or is there a better tire option?

Rear brakes inadequate?

Does anyone else feel like the rear brakes are just too weak for this machine? When descending a hill and on the brakes my machine bangs and clanks from the play in the drivetrain. What I'm wondering is if the rear brakes had better control of the wheels would it limit the beating the trans takes?

What do you guys think? Larger rear rotors, more aggressive pads, switch the bias front to rear?

XPT4 Top Speed

A quick question, what is the top speed everyone is getting out of the Turbo 4 seater? I've found that once I get to about 62 MPH I start banging off the rev limiter. That was on the street, but when I was in the dunes I would get to around 58-60 MPH and felt kind of the same thing but couldn't tell if it was belt slippage or a limiter of some sort. Either way, it wouldn't go any faster.

Also, when I looked at the primary and secondary clutches, it looks like the belt is only getting to about a half inch from the top of the primary and about an eighth of an inch from the top of the secondary. Any thoughts?

Well, add me to the list of those with a loose and missing bolt behind the primary. Pulled my primary today and found a missing bolt. Did not find the bolt but saw where it was bouncing around with minimal damage. Feel I lucked out here... could have been worse.

Okay guys here's the deal. I am completely new to the rzr world. I bought a new xp1k turbo 4 seater last weekend. And haven't even gotten to my 25hr breakin yet. I live in flagstaff so cinders and high elevation are big But I'd still like to learn more from seasoned rzr owners. Yes I'm mechanically inclined just don't know the roots it this platform..
And yes I've heard it on other forums "you have no business buying that rig if you're new too them, just get a 900" thing is I didn't. And am not even considering that idea how else am I gun a learn... anyway I have a few questions
1. Is the slap/clank I here everytime I accelerate or decelerate after high speeds normal?
2. The rattle I hear in the front end can't be good so I'm hoping they will warranty that.
3. What are good programmers,exhaust, intake, belts,clutch kits for this bike and why.
4. What mpg is everyone getting and why will my right only go 78-80

So what is everyone doing with their clutches? I've read a lot about saying if you boost you're power at all there are a few mods you have to do. I already ordered the shims but what else is necessary and best for longevity?

I had my eye on the RZRs since the 800 models and finally got a stable enough job to pull the trigger on one.! Sucks to wait so long, but doesn't hurt my first rig is a turbo 1000. Very capable machines!!!

I am trying to add more spring preload to my front suspension....I lifted both wheels off the ground to take all of the preload off suspension and I can not for the life of me get my spring collars to tighten down more. I can loosen up locking ring, but there doesn't seem to be any room to use the tool provided to actually tighten down ring. So I tried using a hammer/regular screw driver to tighten down but that was just causing damage...what method of success have you guys used to add more spring preload?
